In an illuminating conversation with Guangming Online, Wang Chuanrui, Member of the National Assembly of Suriname, articulates the myriad advantages that the Belt and Road Initiative presents for Suriname and its citizens. Mr. Chuanrui not only highlights the tangible benefits of this collaborative endeavor but also commends China's visionary outlook, applauding the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind and China's proactive stance on fostering multilateral cooperation for the collective upliftment of developing nations.

Wang Chuanrui: We all know that in ancient times, there was already the historical concept of the Silk Road, which extended to Central Asia, Southeast Asia, and even to Africa, encompassing both the Silk Road and the Maritime Silk Road. History has indeed validated the positive effects of the Belt and Road. In the present context, the multilateral development advocated by the Belt and Road Initiative is exactly what developing countries need.

For Suriname, joining the BRI implies collaborating with more friendly nations to achieve development. China’s numerous products can be exported to Suriname; and in turn, Suriname can export commodities with South American characteristics to China. This applies not only to goods but also to cultural exchanges. Therefore, there are numerous benefits for both the business and cultural sectors when it comes to participating in the BRI.

The idea of a community with a shared future for mankind is a very good one. Chinese President Xi Jinping's concept of a community of shared future for mankind, along with the global initiatives he has proposed, can be seen as an exemplary model for global cooperation. As Chinese President Xi Jinping said, “One single flower does not make spring; one hundred flowers in full blossom bring spring to the garden.” The idea of multilateral cooperation has benefited many developing countries. We can observe that the appeal of hegemony is diminishing, and conversely, China’s promotion of a global governance system characterized by extensive consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits, and the concept of a shared future for mankind are gaining more and more support from countries around the world.
