In China, perhaps no animal has garnered as much attention and adoration as giant pandas. For many memories hark back to the 1980s when a song titled "Panda Mimi" sparked a global movement to save giant pandas and stirred ripples in the heart of Li Desheng.
Back then, the Wolong Nature Reserve was isolated with underdeveloped transportation, over 100 college students came here, but almost all of them eventually left. Li persisted till the end.Starting as a breeder, he learned about the living habits of giant pandas and combining it with his expertise, he provided services for the protection of giant pandas.
Over 30 years, Li has led his team to establish technical systems for giant panda artificial breeding and release monitoring, which has filled many research gaps. There are many giant panda researchers and caretakers like Li who have contributed their wisdom and dedication to the protection of giant pandas.
