KAMPALA, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Senior officials from Uganda, Sudan and Bolivia have hailed China for its role in promoting fairness in global issues.

China has been playing an important role in the political, social and economic well-being of developing countries, they told Xinhua during the 19th Non-Aligned Movement summit that concluded on Saturday and the 3rd South Summit that commenced on Sunday.

Sudanese Acting Foreign Minister Ali Al-Sadiq said that China is a key partner of Africa. "We look favorably upon the Chinese presence on the continent because China is committed to the development of African countries with no strings attached."

China has always supported developing countries right from the struggles against colonialism, said Uganda's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Okello Oryem. "China stood with Africa for the liberation of Mozambique, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Namibia; China was there."

Oryem hailed China's position on the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip, noting that the Asian country has always advocated for the peaceful settlement of conflicts.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bolivia Celinda Sosa Lunda described China as a development partner of the South American country. She said Bolivia shares the same view as China in the resolution of the Israel-Palestine conflict. "We will keep supporting every effort to save the lives of the Palestinian people."
