BEIJING, March 16 (Xinhua) -- "Remember Me," a Chinese family drama, generated a daily box office of 11.73 million yuan (1.65 million U.S. dollars) on Friday, its first day of hitting cinemas in China, data from the China Movie Data Information Network showed.
The film's story revolves around the reunion of a grandmother and her long-lost granddaughter. On Friday, it came up third on China's daily box office chart.
The first place of the chart was still occupied by action crime film "The Pig, the Snake and the Pigeon," which earned 17.75 million yuan Friday, amounting its total box office to 458 million yuan.
It was followed by Hollywood sci-fi blockbuster "Dune: Part Two," which grossed 15.01 million yuan on Friday.
