BEIJING, March 17 (Xinhua) -- Action crime film "The Pig, the Snake and the Pigeon" stayed atop the Chinese mainland's daily box office tally on Saturday, data from the China Movie Data Information Network showed.
With a daily box office revenue of 34.57 million yuan (4.87 million U.S. dollars), the film's total box office reached 493 million yuan on its sixteenth screening day.
It was followed by the Hollywood sci-fi blockbuster "Dune: Part Two," with a daily box office earning of 31.23 million yuan. "Kung Fu Panda 4," the latest installment in the franchise, came in third and grossed 24.73 million yuan during its preview screening on Saturday.
Saturday's box office earnings totaled 158.95 million yuan.
