Action movie "The Pig, the Snake and the Pigeon" tops China's box office chart

BEIJING, March 18 (Xinhua) -- Action crime film "The Pig, the Snake and the Pigeon" stayed atop the Chinese mainland's daily box office tally on Sunday, data from the China Movie Data Information Network showed.

With a daily box office revenue of 26.65 million yuan (3.76 million U.S. dollars), the film's total box office reached 520 million yuan on its 17th screening day.

It was followed by the Hollywood sci-fi blockbuster "Dune: Part Two," with a daily box office earning of 23.56 million yuan. "Kung Fu Panda 4," the latest installment in the franchise, came in third and grossed 17.52 million yuan during its preview screening on Sunday.

Sunday's box office earnings totaled 119.64 million yuan.
