Located in southeast China’s Fujian Province, Taining County in Sanming City nestles at the foot of the Wuyi Mountains. The area is characterized by lush green mountains, verdant vegetation, and distinct seasons, earning it the picturesque description of "Eight Mountains, One Water, One Field." With a forest coverage rate of 78.4%, Taining leverages its unique geographical advantages to become an ecological paradise and is one of the first national demonstration counties for ecological civilization construction.

Adhering to the philosophy that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets," Taining has developed ten major scenic areas, including Dajin Lake, Shangqing Stream, and Jiulong Pool. The diverse Danxia landforms and magnificent landscapes leave visitors in awe. Beyond its stunning natural scenery, Taining boasts a rich cultural and historical heritage. As a thousand-year-old county, it is renowned as an ancient town from the Han and Tang dynasties and a famous city from the Song dynasties. The local government has dedicated efforts to the Taining Ancient City project, focusing on enhancing areas like Shangshu Alley and Red Army Street, vigorously promoting the protection and revitalization of the ancient city.

The clean and tidy old streets, historical alleys and pavilions, and unique themed museums attract tourists from Jiangxi, Guangdong, Shanghai, and other regions.

Tourism has now become Taining's pillar industry, with one-fifth of the county's workforce employed in the sector. Last year alone, domestic tourists numbered over 8.9 million.
