Sun Lvlv is a young artist and the Vice President of the Beijing Women Artists Association. Her work is characterized by its Gongbi style, a meticulous and realist technique in Chinese painting. Her paintings also blends both traditional Chinese and Western painting techniques. The themes of her artworks are diverse, ranging from paintings that merge ancient mural elements with modern figures, to those highlighting the diversity and uniqueness of women. She also explores themes related to China's history and culture, rural revitalization, the ancient Silk Road, environmental protection, and take inspirations from her daily life.
In her demonstration, Sun showcased the process of the traditional Gongbi painting technique by tracing an artwork from a Yongle Palace mural, where she traced the headset of the goddess Mercury, a figure from the Yongle Palace murals.
