The hope of Sino-US relations lies with the people, its foundation is among the citizens, its future rests on the youth, and its vitality comes from local engagement. Recently, the 2024 Sino-US University Summer Basketball Exchange, organized by Tsinghua University and co-hosted by the Huang Yi Cong Foundation, CARHAR Philanthropies Inc. from the United States, the Department of Physical Education of Tsinghua University, and the Tsinghua University Education Foundation, was held in Beijing.
Playing basketball, eating roast duck, climbing the Great Wall, attending lectures... Over the course of a week, Chinese and American youth players used basketball as a medium and culture as the core. Through a variety of rich cultural exchange activities, they gained a deep understanding of each other’s cultural backgrounds and values, jointly painting a beautiful picture of "making friends through basketball and a united world." "Next, the American side has invited us to the U.S. to hold a Sino-US basketball exchange event next year," said Yu Heng, Chairman of the Huang Yi Cong Foundation. "To deepen and implement the 'San Francisco Vision,' we will hold these games annually and hope for long-term Sino-US cultural exchanges."
