Miguel Angel Ulises Ugarelli Zamalloa, a rural development expert at Peru’s Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion, praised China’s approach to poverty alleviation, highlighting its effective integration of social and economic policies.

He emphasized China’s balanced focus on social welfare and market-driven growth, particularly in empowering rural communities. He cited examples such as the development of village-level industries in tourism and agriculture, which have proven effective in improving livelihoods.

Zamalloa noted that this model demonstrates how central governments can connect closely with local communities to drive sustainable development. He encouraged more developing countries to learn about China’s experience in achieving poverty alleviation.
