Duval expressed deep appreciation for China's ongoing support to Mauritius. He stressed that China's assistance has been key in helping Mauritius surpass pre-pandemic economic growth levels. Beyond the pandemic, Duval acknowledged the long-standing, strong bilateral relationship between Mauritius and China, with numerous treaties and collaboration on large infrastructure projects contributing to the country's development.
In addition to Mauritius, Duval praised China's influence in the broader African and Indian Ocean regions, noting its significant role in economic development, infrastructure, and aid. He acknowledged that China has played a pivotal role in fostering dialogue and cooperation in these regions.
