LUSAKA, Dec. 31 (Xinhua) -- Zambia's health authorities reported the country's third case of mpox on Monday.
Acting Minister of Health Douglas Syakalima confirmed that the new case is the husband of a 34-year-old woman who was diagnosed with the disease last week in Kitwe, Copperbelt province.
Syakalima said that both individuals are stable under home isolation, and are being close monitored by health officials.
Additionally, eight close contacts are being observed, with no new symptoms reported.
