TOKYO, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- A car veered into the opposite lane in Sagamihara City on Wednesday and collided with another vehicle before crashing into a stationary bus, leaving the driver of the car dead.
The accident occurred around 9:00 a.m. local time on a straight section of a prefectural road. The car first struck another car and a roadside pole before overturning and hitting a bus at a bus stop, according to national broadcaster NHK.
The car's driver was transported to the hospital in an unconscious state and was later pronounced dead. The bus was carrying a driver and two passengers, none of whom were injured.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
