BEIJING, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- The Beijing Ducks strengthened their playoff ambitions on Thursday by signing 25-year-old American guard Zachary Nutall, who will wear the No. 24 jersey for the remainder of the 2024-25 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) season.
The 1.90-meter swingman arrives from United League side Nizhny Novgorod, for whom he averaged 17.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in 25 minutes per game this season. His 38.3% three-point shooting efficiency positions him as a dual-threat perimeter scorer, capable of attacking the rim and creating mid-range opportunities in transition.
"It's a great opportunity to play here. It's a great team who's trying to make a big push in the playoffs. They called and asked me to come and help, and I'm happy to do so," Nutall said.
Nutall emphasized his commitment to the team's success. "I believe what's most important right now coming at this time of the season and the last stretch for the team is to just be a winner, and find a way to help the team win as many games as we can.
"That's my focus - being whatever the team needs me to be, but also being myself and comfortable doing so. I can do a lot of things but what's most important is being able to do what the team needs," Nutall added. ■
