Whole-process people's democracy ensures public participation at all levels of governance

Edmund Gregory Hinkson, member of Parliament in Barbados, praised China's whole-process people's democracy as an inclusive and structured system that ensures public participation at all levels of governance. He emphasized that China, as a sovereign nation, has the right to determine its own governance model for the maximum development of its people. Noting China's five-layered governance system extending to grassroots administration, he was particularly impressed by the liaison offices, where local representatives actively discuss policies and respond to public concerns. "The public can write complaints, petitions, or suggestions to improve their districts and receive responses," he observed, highlighting how China's democratic system prioritizes public engagement and effective governance.
