BEIJING, June 3 (Xinhua) -- The second Belt and Road Conference on Science and Technology Exchange will take place in Chengdu, the capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province, from June 10 to 12, the State Council Information Office said at a press conference on Tuesday.
Vice Minister of Science and Technology Chen Jiachang said that the conference, themed "Building the Innovation Silk Road for Shared Development: Working Together for a Belt and Road Science and Technology Community," will champion the concept of a community with a shared future for all.
The conference will uphold the principles of extensive consultation and joint contribution for shared benefit, aiming to strengthen exchange, build consensus, deepen cooperation, and provide strong sci-tech support for high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, Chen noted.
The conference will feature 38 events across five categories: major events, thematic activities, special events, roundtables, and technology matchmaking sessions. Discussions will cover academic exchange, industrial innovation, international mega-science projects, artificial intelligence, and Belt and Road sci-tech planning and policy coordination. The event will gather attendees from over 100 countries and international organizations.
The conference is being co-hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the China Association for Science and Technology, the Sichuan Provincial People's Government, and the Chongqing Municipal People's Government.
