One-stop "e-Station" improves residents' daily life at Tongga community, SW China's Xizang

LHASA, July 24 (Guangming Online)--Located in the Tongga Community of Tohlung Dechen District, Lhasa, southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region, the Tongga “e-Station” is a comprehensive service hub integrating community management and public services. It currently serves 294 households and 1,008 residents.

Established in May 2023, the station offers a convenient one-stop platform for essential public services. Residents can access a wide array of support, ranging from policy consultations and household registration assistance to employment guidance and elderly care. Through integrated digital systems, the station streamlines administrative processes, allowing community members to complete procedures more efficiently.

In addition, the facility is equipped with practical amenities such as oxygen supply, entertainment and reading corners, phone charging stations, hot water access, internet connectivity, and rest zones—catering to both daily needs and comfort.

The Tongga “e-Station” exemplifies how localized governance and digital infrastructure are improving grassroots public service delivery across Xizang. Since its inauguration, the station has provided medical assistance to two individuals, facilitated 1,470 health insurance enrollments, handled 1,083 pension insurance cases, processed 246 pension eligibility verifications, and issued more than 1,000 certificates for various community needs.
