Located in the heart of Yangliuqing Town, Xiqing District, north China’s Tianjin Municipality, the Yangliuqing Folk Culture Museum offers a vivid window into the traditions, artistry, and everyday life of Tianjin. Covering over 5,000 square meters, the museum has become a key cultural education base and public platform for social exchange in the region.

With the central theme of “history, folk art, and inheritance”, the museum takes visitors on a journey through six major exhibition zones. These include displays on the origin of Yangliuqing woodblock New Year prints along the Grand Canal, the role of prints in expressing prayers for prosperity, and their reflections of a flourishing commercial era. Other sections highlight the integration of Silk Road artistry into local life, the influence of traditional opera and local customs, and the enduring charm of intangible cultural heritage.

The museum houses more than a thousand cultural relics—from traditional prints and folk artifacts to old photographs and life-size period recreations. With immersive scene restorations, the museum brings the vibrant spirit of old Yangliuqing to life in an engaging and modern way.

Blending historical richness with creative presentation, the Yangliuqing Folk Culture Museum serves as both a faithful portrait of a historic town and a powerful example of how intangible heritage continues to inspire and educate new generations.
