BEIJING — Catherine Launa, Minister for Women, Youth, Children and Family Affairs of the Solomon Islands, visited the Shunyi District Women and Children's Social Service Center during the Global Leaders' Meeting on Women on Oct. 14, 2025. She said that with more than 100 countries participating, the meeting provides an important opportunity to learn how different nations protect women, children, and families. Praising China's social service system, she noted that such experiences could inspire similar initiatives in her own country. She added that "women hold up half of the sky," emphasizing the need for women's participation in policy-making to achieve balanced laws and inclusive development for all.
