BEIJING, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- A new global center dedicated to women's capacity building has been launched at the China Women's University in Beijing, as part of the country's ongoing efforts to promote women's all-round development worldwide.
The Global Center for Women's Capacity Building, jointly established by the All-China Women's Federation and the China International Development Cooperation Agency, aims to promote women's capacity building and development through cooperation with relevant countries and international organizations. It seeks to nurture outstanding female talent and contribute to global gender equality and sustainable development.
The unveiling ceremony on Tuesday was attended by UN Under-Secretary-General and UN Women Executive Director Sima Bahous, along with ministerial representatives from relevant countries participating in the Global Leaders' Meeting on Women, which was held in Beijing early this week.
After the inauguration, a roundtable was held for delegates from multiple countries to share insights and practices on promoting women's development worldwide.
