SHANGHAI, Nov. 5 (Guangming Online) —At the 8th Hongqiao International Economic Forum (HQF), Dennis Hong, Founding director of Robotics & Mechanics Laboratory (RoMela), University of California, Los Angeles, praised the forum as fantastic, noting it covered important, timely topics with well-known expert panelists. He expressed astonishment at China’s humanoid robotics progress and emphasized China is currently the only viable country to purchase actual working humanoid robot products. Unlike U.S. firms like Tesla, Figure and Boston Dynamics—driven by venture capital—he highlighted the Chinese government plays an extremely important and positive role in the sector. He added that he witnesses remarkable developmental progress in China every year and is excited to return next year to see further advancements in its humanoid robotics industry.
