China and Africa together: Advancing modernization and building a shared future

The China-Africa Community with a Shared Future is the earliest proposed, most solidly founded, and most extensive "community of shared future" at the regional level.

In March 2013, during his visit to Africa, Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed for the first time the principle of sincerity, real results, amity and good faith for China's Africa policy, along with the right approach to friendship and interests. He solemnly declared that China and Africa will always be trustworthy friends and sincere partners, emphasizing that "China and Africa have always shared a common destiny." This marked the beginning of a new chapter in China-Africa friendship in the new era.

In 2015, 2018, and 2021, on the platform of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, President Xi Jinping successively announced the implementation of?the?"Ten Cooperation Plans," the "Eight Actions," and the "Nine Programs" for China-Africa cooperation, continuously deepening and propelling the cooperation to keep pace with the times.

At the 2024 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, bilateral relations between China and all African countries having diplomatic relations with China were elevated to the level of strategic relations, and the overall characterization of China-Africa relations was elevated to an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era.

Over the past decade, China and Africa have deepened their cooperation through the Belt and Road Initiative and the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, with achievements covering multiple fields such as trade, infrastructure, and livelihoods. Today, the vibrant China-Africa cooperation has become a model for South-South cooperation, and the continually developing China-Africa relationship stands as a paradigm for a new type of international relations.
