A newly received batch of archival documents related to the Khabarovsk War Crimes Trials offers fresh, comprehensive evidence of the crimes committed by Japan's wartime Unit 731, said Zhou Zhenfan, official with the Archive Preservation Department of China's Central Archives.
Zhou noted that the materials are both new and complete, involving individuals across high, middle, and lower ranks, including senior military officers. The documents form a full evidentiary chain, covering pretrial investigations, medical appraisals, witness testimonies, indictments, verdicts, and post-trial diplomatic communications. Focused on germ-warfare, the archives complement existing collections and help reveal the anti-human nature of militarism, underscoring the importance of remembering history and safeguarding peace.
