During the New Year holiday, the Intangible Cultural Heritage Experience Center in Dukezong Ancient Town attracted a growing number of visitors, particularly young audiences from social media platforms like Xiaohongshu and Douyin. Located in the Jinlong Community of Jiantang Town, Shangri-La City, Yunnan Province in southwest China, the center offers free hands-on workshops in Thangka painting and Tibetan incense-making, providing an immersive way to experience and celebrate Tibetan culture.
Jinlong Community is home to 2,778 residents from nine ethnic groups, including Tibetan, Naxi, Yi, Lisu, Bai, Hui, and Han, with multi-ethnic households making up 85% of the community. It is reported that the center has engaged over 800 local households, helping to raise the average annual income by more than ¥40,000 per person.
