CAIRO, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi on Sunday met with U.S. President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner in the coastal city of El Alamein to discuss regional developments, particularly the Palestinian issue, the Egyptian presidency said in a statement.
During the meeting, the two sides stressed the need for all parties to fulfill their obligations under the agreement to stop the war in the Gaza Strip, reached in Sharm El-Sheikh in October 2025.
Sisi stressed the importance of confronting shared challenges and resolving regional crises to preserve stability in the Middle East.
Kushner highlighted the close coordination between Egypt and the United States and Egypt's efforts to promote regional peace and stability, describing Egypt as a key U.S. partner in the Middle East, according to the statement.
The meeting came as Hamas said on Sunday that its delegation is holding meetings in the Egyptian capital Cairo to ensure Israel's compliance with a roadmap agreed upon with the U.S.-led "Board of Peace." ■
