Damas Daniel Ndumbaro, a Tanzanian parliamentarian attending the 2026 Interregional Seminar on the Achievement of the SDGs for Parliaments of Developing Countries, lauded the Tanzania-Zambia Railway (TAZARA) as a landmark of China-Africa friendship and a testament to China's railway engineering expertise.
Drawing on his personal experience as a former deputy CEO and passenger, he said the 1,860-km railway has strengthened regional connectivity, facilitated trade, created jobs and driven the growth of cities along its route. He noted that TAZARA has connected Tanzania and Zambia with other Southern African countries, demonstrating the lasting impact of China-Africa cooperation.
