Dominica MP highlights AI opportunities for Global South development

At the 2026 Interregional Seminar on the Achievement of the SDGs for Parliaments of Developing Countries, Lorie Victor, Member of Parliament of the Commonwealth of Dominica, stressed the importance of international cooperation on AI, particularly for countries in the Global South.

She highlighted AI's potential to support key sectors such as tourism, enhance productivity and create new economic opportunities. She also called for greater inclusion of smaller developing countries in AI policymaking and decision-making, ensuring they can fully participate in and benefit from the AI era.
