Anda Filip: IPU and NPC Collaborate to Advance SDGs through Concrete Actions

BEIJING - At the 2026 Interregional Seminar on the Achievement of the SDGs for Parliaments of Developing Countries, Anda Filip, Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), highlighted the role of cooperation between the IPU and China’s National People’s Congress (NPC) in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emphasizing the value of sharing China’s experience with developing countries and the Global South.

Filip praised the Seminar's outcomes, noting that it provided parliamentarians with a first-hand view of China’s experience in sustainable development and grassroots people’s democracy. She also stressed the importance of turning such exchanges into concrete action, including the development of practical tools and guidelines to empower parliaments to advance the SDGs.
