IPU Secretary General Anda Filip calls for parliamentary dimension to global AI governance

BEIJING - At the 2026 Interregional Seminar on the Achievement of the SDGs for Parliaments of Developing Countries, Anda Filip, Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), called for integrating a parliamentary dimension to global AI governance, through which the IPU can play a role in mobilizing regional and global agreements on AI. She cited this as an example of the IPU’s role in translating global ideas and commitments into national realities and developing a parliamentary dimension to the work of the United Nations.
