Flower decorations arranged to welcome the CPC centenary
From June 23, 2021, nearly 100,000 square meters of flower decorations will be arranged in parks in Beijing, China's capital city in greetings of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC). In 11 parks including the Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven, Beihai Park, there are 21 sets of three-dimensional flowerbeds, more than 400 container flower pots, and 17,550 square meters of ground-planted flowers, with a total amount of 1.46 million. Among them, lights are installed at the main flowerbeds in Taoranting Park, Zizhuyuan Park and Yuyuantan Park for the night view.

The "Hundred Birds Face the Phoenix" flowerbed is set against a picture scroll at Beijing Zoo. The red phoenix is made of begonias, while the flat plants are scattered to immitate a mimic natural landscape, creating an auspicious scenery.
The "Love for the Nature" flowerbed depicts interesting interactive scenes between plants and animals in nature, implying love for nature and harmony of all. It reflects 100 years of hardship and practice of the CPC, adhering to the concept of ecology first and green development to create a harmonious coexistence homeland between mankind and nature.
Outside the east gate of Taoranting Park, the flowerbed of mountain-shaped plant with water system is named "China Landscape", which symbolizes the glorious achievements of the party over the past centuries - the everlasting mountains, rivers and prosperity. Using begonia, five-color grass, bougainvillea, hydrangea, sage, fragrant bird, impatiens, tulip tree, etc., the "red boat" silhouette in the middle implies that the CPC seeks happiness for the people and China's national rejuvenation. The original aspiration of the CPC remains unchanged as it welcomes the 100th anniversary and embarks on a new journey.
The flowerbed placed outside the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests at Temple of Heaven, is mainly made of sunflowers. The sunflowers blooms under the sun, symbolizing prosperity, unity and blessings for the CPC.
The "Blessing" flowerbed is located on the National Flower Terrace of the Summer Palace. Its shape is based on the traditional Chinese auspicious flower basket shape, combined with traditional auspicious elements such as peony, longevity peach, osmanthus, persimmon, etc., blended into the royal garden environment of the Summer Palace as wishing the people a happy and beautiful life while sending blessings to the CPC’s centennial birthday.
The flower bed in Zizhuyuan Park is composed of landscape and grass sculptures, which make up the main part of the flower bed. The high and low bamboo poles are the epitome of the city with tall buildings. It is the common goal and wish of everyone to build a ecological city. The red ribbon carries the blessings and dreams of the past century and the years to come.
