Rihisa sakamoto, from the department of integrated design at Tama Art university in Japan, has long been interested in rubber bands, and with modern society focusing on the function and rarity of things, she decided to use them as a material to knit clothes, hoping to explore objects that no one would notice, according to the report.
Miss.Sakamoto said she spent a year designing, making and proofing dresses, short coats, waistcoats and underwear.
But the process was not smooth. She was impressed when the rubber band became so strong that the needles broke.
But the difficulties didn't dampen her enthusiasm for making rubber band clothes, and at the graduation show, Miss.Sakamoto was satisfied with the finished product. It was feared that the clothes would have a strong plastic smell, but her work was completely odorless, which surprised many people present.
