Jack Ma Foundation, Alibaba Foundation release COVID-19 prevention and treatment handbook

BEIJING, March 19 (Guangming Online) -- Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Foundation launched a handbook of COVID-19 prevention and treatment on Mar. 18, 2020.
The handbook shares clinical experience of how to diagnose, screen, and treat COVID-19 from frontline medical workers at the First Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine. The hospital has treated 104 COVID-19 patients, including 78 in critical condition, over the past 50 days.
The Chinese and English versions of the handbook have already been available online, and versions in other languages, including Italian, Spanish, Korean, and Japanese, are being prepared.
“Today, with the spread of the pandemic, these experiences are the most valuable sources of information and the most important weapon for medical workers on the frontline,” Jack Ma, founder of Alibaba Group, wrote in the foreword to the handbook.
“We hope that this Handbook can provide doctors and nurses in other affected areas valuable information so they don’t have to enter the battle field alone,” Ma worte.
Since the outbreak of COVID-19, Alibaba has taken various actions to aid the global fight against the disease.
On Wednesday, a batch of 1 million facial masks donated by Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Foundation was flown in Belgium en route to France. On Tuesday, 500,0000 medical masks donated by Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Foundation were received by the Spanish Ministry of Health, Consumer Affairs and Social Services.
Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Foundation have committed to donating over 2 million facial masks and medical supplies to support Europe.
By Wednesday, Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Foundation have donated medical supplies to Japan, the Republic of Korea, the United States, Italy, and Spain. They have also committed to donate medical supplies including test kits, facial masks, and protective suits to 54 African countries.
Alibaba’s communication app DingTalk is in UNESCO’s latest list of distance learning platforms. A total of 120 million students in China have resumed classes through DingTalk.
