Pic story of designer who turns sea drifts into artworks in Fujian
Cai Jingxiang transplants a succulant plant into a seashell collected from the beach at his exhibition hall of sea drifts in Jinjiang City, southeast China's Fujian Province, on April 19, 2021. Cai Jingjiang, a career advertisement designer, returned five years ago to his hometown at Tangdong Village, Jinjing Township of Jinjiang City. He found inspiration from the sea drifts washed ashore near his village, many of them in unique shapes. One day after another, Cai searched through the beach and brought home drifts with artistic potential, and turned them into pieces of artwork and domestic decorations. Cai converted an old house passed down in his family into an exhibition hall where he displays and illustrates his artistic creations from what used to be garbage in the sea. In this way, he wishes to call people's attention to environmental protection. (Xinhua/Song Weiwei)
