Djokovic slams Coria to reach Belgrade Open semifinals

BELGRADE, May 27 (Xinhua) -- World's top ranked tennis player Novak Djokovic made an easy triumph against Federico Coria by 6-1, 6-0 in the quarterfinals of the Belgrade Open ATP 250 tournament on Thursday, and will face Andrej Martin in the semifinals.
In one of the first matches played in front of the audiences since the pandemic started, Djokovic defeated Coria in less than one hour, achieving six breaks overall.
Martin, Djokovic's opponent in the semifinals made a turnaround against Dusan Lajovic after losing the first set in 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 and will attempt to win his first ATP title against the world No. 1.
In the other semifinal Alex Molcan will meet Federico Delbonis.
In Friday's final of the doubles, Jonathan Erlich and Andrei Vasilevski will face Andre Goransson and Rafael Matos.
From May 23 to 29, Belgrade is hosting its second ATP 250 tournament this year, at the Novak Tennis Centre, just a month after the Serbian capital made its long-awaited ATP comeback with the Serbia Open.
Overall, 28 players compete in singles, along with 16 doubles at the Novak Tennis Centre for a prize of 511,000 euros. Enditem
