U.S. Indo-Pacific strategy to only lead to more division: Indian media quotes China's comments
BEIJING, June 3 (Xinhua) -- An Indian news agency has recently quoted Chinese military spokesperson's comments on U.S. Indo-Pacific strategy, saying this strategy will only lead to more division.
"No strategy should instigate countries to establish selective and exclusive military alliances, or to create a 'New Cold War' featuring bloc confrontation," Tan Kefei, spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense, was quoted by Press Trust of India on May 27 as saying.
"The Zero-sum game will only lead to more division, antagonism and chaos," and "no strategy should harm the well-being of people in the regional countries, or put them in a dangerous situation," Tan said.
The spokesperson made the comments at a regular press conference on May 27 when answering reporters' question about U.S. promotion of the strategy.
