Yongdingmen: Southern starting point of the Central Axis

Yongdingmen, or "the Gate of Perpetual Peace", is the southern starting point of the Central Axis in Beijing. On our tour to Yongdingmen, we learned the history of the Central Axis from professor Lv Zhou. Today, the Yongdingmen Gate Tower and the Yongdingmen Square are public spaces for citizens to relax. By climing up the Yongdingmen Gate Tower, we were able to look at majestic buildings on the Central Axis in the distance set against the beautiful winter scenery. It was an afternoon with precious memories at Yongdingmen.
