As the largest organization in China, the CPC has over 90 million members. They share the same ideals, though coming from different sectors, regions or backgrounds.
So, how to become a CPC member?
Step 1: Application
After reaching the age of 18, you can submit an application to the party branch at your school, workplace or community, outlining your personal information and motivation for applying.
Step 2: Training
You need to attend courses, lectures and online training for more than one year to understand the nature, guidelines, mission, purpose and discipline of the Party, and your duties and rights as a member.
Step 3: Sponsorship
You must be recommended by two full Party members. They are your tutors in gaining membership to the Party.
Step 4: Review
In the training process, you need to take a comprehensive “exam” once every six months. You will be evaluated on your study, thinking, character and performance at work.
Your sponsors, other official Party members, and even classmates or colleagues outside the Party will be your examiners.
Step 5: Probation
After the oath in front of the Party flag, you are now a probationary party member.
You will then be subject to a 1-year review by the Party.
Step 6:
After the probationary period, your Party Branch will convene a meeting to vote on your membership to the Party.
If more than half of the votes are in favor, then congratulations! You are officially a member to the largest political party in the world!
