BFA flagship reports released, Secretary General Li Baodong calls for certainty in an uncertain world

BOAO, Hainan, March 29 (Guangming Online) -- Li Baodong, Secretary General of Boao Forum for Asia and former Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, speaks at the Press Conference and Launch of Annual Reports of the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2023 in Boao, south China’s Hainan Province, Mar. 28, 2023, marking the beginning of the 4-day event.

As the first entirely offline annual conference of BFA since the COVID-19 outbreak, this year's BFA conference gathers around 2,000 delegates from over 50 countries and regions and over 1,100 journalists from over 170 media organizations from about 40 countries and regions to Hainan Province, the southern island of China. Themed "An Uncertain World: Solidarity and Cooperation for Development amid Challenges," the event will center around four main topics, namely "Development and Inclusiveness," "Efficiency and Security," "Regional and Global," and "The Present and the Future."

At the press conference, two BFA flagship reports were released, which are the BFA Asian Economic Outlook and Integration Progress Annual Report 2023 and the Sustainable Development: Asia and the World Annual Report 2023 —Public Private Joint Actions in Financing Asia's Development. These two reports together convey the Boao Forum for Asia's continued commitment to promoting economic integration and sustainable development in Asia.

"We hope to explore certainty in an uncertain world and promote solidarity and cooperation among countries to better meet challenges through discussions at the annual conference. We also aim to uphold openness and inclusiveness to better promote development," said Li Baodong.
