Domestic suspense film "Lost in the Stars" stays on top of China's box office chart

BEIJING, June 26 (Xinhua) -- "Lost in the Stars," a domestic suspense crime film, continued to top China's daily box office chart on Sunday, data from the China Movie Data Information Network showed.

The film grossed 142.76 million yuan (about 19.8 million U.S. dollars) on Sunday. Adapted from the Soviet film "Trap for Lonely Man," the movie follows the story of a wife who mysteriously disappears during an overseas trip but suddenly turns up just as her husband's search for her came to nothing.

Domestic romance "Love Never Ends" kept the second place on Sunday's box office chart on its fifth day of screening, with a daily earning of 19.69 million yuan.

It was followed by "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts," the latest sequel in the Transformers franchise, which pocketed 7.41 million yuan on the day. ■
