West Lake waits for Asian Games

The 19th Asian Games Hangzhou will open on Sept. 23, 2023. On Sept. 16, reporters walked into the UNESCO World Heritage West Lake in Hangzhou, east China’s Zhejiang Province. In the misty rain and fog, the water ripples and the mountain peaks are clear and long, just like an unfolding landscape painting. The scenic area is crowded with visitors, all anticipating the arrival of the Asian Games. The West Lake scenic area is composed of six major elements, the natural landscape of the West Lake, the spatial characteristics of “mountain on three sides and city on one side”, the landscape pattern of “two dykes and three islands”, the “West Lake Ten Scenic Spots” scenery, the West Lake cultural and historical sites, and the West Lake specialty plants. Nowadays, the three mascots “Memories of Jiangnan” can be seen everywhere in the scenic area, making the atmosphere of the Asian Games getting stronger and stronger.
