Danish business leader applauds China's efforts in sustainability at 6th CIIE

SHANGHAI - On Nov. 5, 2023, at the sixth China International Import Expo (CIIE) taking place in east China’s Shanghai, Guangming Online conducted an exclusive interview with Astrid Nørgaard Friis, the Global Head of Sustainability, External Relations, and Communications at Grundfos, a manufacturing company from Denmark.

In the interview, Friis applauded China’s sustainability efforts with the country’s net zero targets and “green transition”. Since Grundfos is dedicated to solving the world’s water and climate challenges, these goals align with China’s focus on environmental issues.

The 6th CIIE sets an example of China’s dedication to sustainability, where for the first time, the event achieved an all-green exhibition by using green electricity through inter-provincial green electricity trading. The green electricity generated by wind and solar photovoltaic farms from China’s Anhui Province covered all power usage of the CIIE.

The Expo presents an opportunity for world business leaders to engage in conversations related to green development, and showcase innovative products which help to make the world more sustainable.
