RIO DE JANEIRO, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Luciano Acosta struck in stoppage time as Fluminense recovered from a goal down to clinch a 2-1 home win over Internacional in Brazil's Serie A on Wednesday.

Alan Patrick opened the scoring just after halftime by finishing clinically into the bottom corner after Matheus Bahia's pass on the counterattack.

The hosts equalized through Hercules, whose powerful 22-yard volley left goalkeeper Kauan Jesus with no chance.

Luciano completed the comeback in the 97th minute when he fired in from close range after Wesley Nata's shot was blocked by Jesus.

Fluminense is now fifth in the 20-team standings with 54 points, behind Cruzeiro and Athletico Paranaense on goal difference. Internacional remains in a fight to avoid relegation with 35 points from 33 games.

Elsewhere in Brazil's top flight on Wednesday, Bahia won 3-2 at home to Sao Paulo, Remo edged to a 2-1 home win over Botafogo, Santos was held to a goalless home draw by Palmeiras and Bragantino cruised to a 3-0 home win over Chapecoense. ■
