The final competition of the 2nd International Collegiate Competition for Brain-Inspired Computing was successfully held in Tsinghua University

Professor Sun Maosong then presented an ancient poetry generation by using machine translation method. In the presentation, Professor Sun combed the development of natural language processing by summing up the research paradigm transition from rule-based rationalism to statistical-based empiricism, and showed the insufficiency of the current purely statistical-based neural network when dealing with complex semantics tasks. Professor Sun pointed out that a possible solution to this problem is to construct high-frequency language rules through neural networks with the addition of common sense.
