Beijing, a good place for entrepreneurs

Editor’s note: This year marks the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening-up, and huge changes have been made in Beijing, capital of China, over the past 40 years. We have invited 40 foreign experts to participate in a series of interviews named “New Era, New Insight” jointly hosted by GMW.cn(The official website of Guangming Daily) and the Information Office of Beijing Municipality and share their “Beijing Stories”.

Beijing, a good place for entrepreneurs

So I would say that there as a key opinion leader for international people in china. We mostly helped them to find out how they can start working in china. What are the difference between china and the west, and which little details they have to pay attention to in order to not there and make any mistakes.

It's really common like most of the people come to china, especially if they come from the west. Maybe their mind set of China where they think like it's still old school everything all my toys when I was young were written made in China.

So they have this kind of perspective of China and once they come to China. They see totally different it's really developed that's a super economy. It's huge it's big they have the best technology in the world. So that their fascinated and they want to be part of it

So I think this is one of the main reasons why people want to stay in China. They see a lot of opportunities here. Myself I am an example right I didn't expect to come here and grow on business I was expected to stay here for half a year for my studies and then eventually work at the embassy and then go home and continue for my master's degree.

It all didn't happen like that now I'm here five years. It's very uncommon so for me. I'm one of these examples that I came here. I wanted to just be here for a short time, and they ended up being here five years in developing my own company.

And went back home and then during that time there that policies changed. So they were actually not allowed to accept the foreign interns anymore, so they mostly had to Forks on Chinese interns to work at these companies. And it got the really complicated for foreigners to make internships in China. And then a lot of universities started to have a mandatory internships, which means that they base could force those foreigners to make internships though they had to adapt the policies.

Meanwhile it can also just go to the international office of the university. And then they give you a letter and then with this we go to the public security bureau confirmed this, and you can make an internship.

So it changed a lot in the beginning it was super easy and now it's getting a little bit more complicated. But it looks as if they would change it as well very soon, because just lately it was announced then that the foreigners will be able to take part-time jobs and internships all over China.

So I think that there's a really a big step forward going on so that policies are really changing very often very fast so I hope it's turning for the best and that intense. Because it's I think for china it's good to have international interns. Because they give a different mindset different ideas to the companies.

And on the other hand, it's good for the foreigners to have some China experience, because China is gonna go all over the world. Chinese companies are already conquering the world.
