Salute to veterans of the corps: the whole-life contribution

Xinjiang，with an endless sea of sand and hot sun in the sky. Seventy years ago, it was a deserted place here, people lived a poor, miserable life. In 1949, Xinjiang witnessed its peaceful liberation. Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) branched out into two columns to suppress bandits in Hami. The local administration was established. They also set up the Hami reclamation area.

It took the soldiers only two and half days to arrive at Hexi Corridor. However, the temperature on the mountains dropped below minus 30 degrees centigrade 265 soldiers died here.

In 1950, in order to consolidate frontier defense, speed up development reduce the economic burden of the local government and people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang, the PLA troops that was stationed in Xinjiang layed down arms, picked up hoes and sickles and devoted themselves to production and construction.

After 70 years, in the places where there used to be shabby caves cities have been built one by one. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps today takes stability in the frontier region as its responsibility. It actively unites people of all ethnic groups and makes efforts to build a demonstration area of advanced productivity and culture. For the social stability and long-term peace in Xinjiang, it contributes its own energy.
