During the three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday, over 60 burger brands gathered at XIDIANJIYI FunsTown in Beijing’s Chaoyang District for the 2025 Juicy Burger Festival. The event featured more than 140 burger varieties and drew large crowds of local residents, expats, and international visitors.
Organized by The Beijinger, the festival has been held multiple times in the past and has gradually become a well-known food-themed event in the city. This year’s edition combined diverse food offerings with live music, outdoor seating, and a pet-friendly atmosphere, creating a relaxed and vibrant early-summer experience.
Attendees from different countries commented on the diversity of flavors and the welcoming atmosphere. Dana Brown, a performer from the United States, described the experience as “nostalgic,” adding, “There’s a great fusion of flavors.” Robert Allen, a student from the U.K., said the event helped “bring people together,” while David Bremner, a school dean also from the U.K., noted he had sampled nine burgers and was impressed by the lively setting. Luyanda, an employee from South Africa, highlighted the inclusiveness of the city: “Anyone is welcome. You can just be yourself in Beijing.” The festival showcased how Beijing reinterprets a global comfort food, giving it a distinctly local character.
